10-time convicted felon arrested in Plant City after fight ended in gunfire: police

PLANT CITY, Fla. (WFLA) — A 10-time convicted felon was arrested after reports of a fight that led to gunfire, the Plant City Police Department announced.

According to PCPD, on Dec. 11 around 11:20 a.m. officers responded to a dispute ending in gunfire that involved 26-year-old Michael Davis.

Officers quickly began to look for Davis, who was located shortly after the incident traveling in a vehicle on the 500 block of Wheeler Street.

Police said a high-risk motor stop was conducted and Davis was arrested.

During the investigation, officers found a defaced, loaded, and illegally possessed 9-mm handgun, according to PCPD.

“This incident underscores the dedication and courage of our officers in keeping Plant City safe,” said Chief Richard Mills. “Their decisive actions and teamwork prevented further violence and ensured the swift apprehension of a dangerous individual. Plant City will continue to utilize all our resources to eliminate gun violence and protect our community.”
