JACKSONVILLE, Florida — Trentavius Quntez Scott, a 37-year-old from Tampa, has been sentenced to two years and six months in federal prison for passing counterfeit Federal Reserve notes. He was also ordered to pay restitution to his victims, according to a press release from the U.S. District Court.
Scott entered a guilty plea on November 20, 2024. Court documents reveal that he appeared in federal court on September 26, 2024, after being brought from the Hillsborough County jail, where he was serving time for a similar offense. He is also wanted on a felony arrest warrant in Hernando County for an unrelated financial crime.
In July 2023, Scott, a 10-time convicted felon, recruited an individual to help him pass counterfeit currency. The pair traveled to Ocala, where they used fake bills at a retail store.
