Active threat training to be held at 2 Tampa malls this week

BRANDON, Fla. (WFLA)— Active threat training exercises will be conducted at two shopping malls in Tampa on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The training, put on by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, will happen at Brandon Exchange and Citrus Park Mall to prepare deputies and first responders for any potential threat.

Businesses and residents can expect to see an increase in law enforcement, including marked patrol cars, tactical units, and emergency responders.
