Tampa man accused of stealing more than $2.6K of fuel from Pasco County 7-Eleven

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A Tampa man is accused of stealing more than $2,600 of fuel from a Pasco County 7-Eleven.

The Pasco Sheriff’s Office said Osney Gutierrez Hernandez stopped at the 7-Eleven located at 9077 Land O’ Lakes Boulevard on Friday to pump gas.

Gutierrez Hernandez inserted his debit card to pay for diesel fuel but “was able to manipulate the pump to continue dispensing fuel without incurring the appropriate charges,” according to an arrest affidavit.

The sheriff’s office said Gutierrez Hernandez pumped the fuel into a hidden and altered fuel tank in the pickup truck’s bed. “The tank was a 100-gallon legitimate fuel tank, which had been altered to add an additional approximately 100 to 150-gallon tank to the side,” the arrest affidavit showed…
