For those living in Tampa and planning their holiday weekends, take note: your garbage collection dates may have shifted thanks to the Spring Holiday schedule revisions. According to a recent announcement from the Tampa Solid Waste Department, city offices will be shuttered on Friday, as the city observes the spring holiday.
Regularly scheduled Friday services for residential customers, which includes garbage, recycling, and yard waste, will resume the following Monday, April 21. While the McKay Bay Transfer Station and Scale House will also be closing their doors on Friday, they will promptly reopen on Saturday, April 19. Residents normally serviced on Friday must wait until their next scheduled day, as indicated by the revised schedule.
Not to leave business owners hanging, commercial customers expecting Friday pick-ups will only see a slight delay, with services pushed to the following day, Saturday. Everybody can breathe easy knowing the regular service schedule picks back up on Monday…
