Florida program giving free meals to kids, teens during summer months

TAMPA, Fla. — While kids around the Tampa Bay area are getting excited about getting a few months off of school for summer vacation, some are wondering where their next meal is coming from.

To make sure every child has something to eat, a statewide program is in place that will provide free meals across Florida starting on Monday. Summer BreakSpot is a Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services program giving meals to all children who are 18 or younger.
