TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A mild and sunny start to the day will give way to hot temperatures and higher rain chances along the coast this afternoon and evening.
Temperatures warm into the low to mid 90s with feels like temps from 100 to 110 degrees before any rain arrives.
Rain chances will increase around the lunchtime with the best coverage of storms this evening. A few storms develop midday right at the coastline. We’ll also see a few storms develop inland with the east coast sea breeze. A stronger southeast wind will push those storms west through the late afternoon hours and heavy downpours are likely through 7pm.
A similar pattern can be expected Thursday with storms a bit more scattered on Friday.
Rain chances return to normal, about a 40% for the weekend with scattered storms expected each day, mainly in the afternoon.
Temperatures won’t budge much in the near future with highs in the low to mid 90s each day through next week with high humidity.
