St. Pete man steals car from Tampa airport after being denied rental: deputies

WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) — A St. Petersburg man was charged with grand theft after deputies were alerted to a vehicle stolen out of Tampa International Airport in the area of DeFuniak Springs.

According to an investigation, the suspect was denied renting a vehicle. Instead of taking no for an answer, authorities said the suspect located a vehicle with the keys in it and tailgated another driver out of the parking lot.

Lonnie Morris, 32, is now in custody. The Walton County Sheriff’s Office recovered the vehicle.
