New book sends message to young Black girls that their hair can do all things

TAMPA, Fla. — When it comes to hair care and hair maintenance for young girls, it can be a real challenge.

When you add in the cases of hair discrimination and acceptance for textured hair, that creates a layer of other problems. It’s part of the reason why one mother said she wrote a book to make sure young girls grow confidence at an early age when it comes to their hair.
