Polk County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Speeding Driver, Uncovers Felon Status and Child Neglect

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A routine traffic stop for excessive speeding on Interstate 4 yesterday afternoon led to the arrest of a 26-year-old man facing multiple charges, including child neglect, after a Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputy discovered he was a registered gang member on federal probation with no valid driver’s license.

At approximately 1:00 PM on Tuesday, July 15th, Polk County Sheriff Deputy Janiak observed a gray 2024 Toyota SUV traveling eastbound on I-4 at a speed significantly exceeding the posted 70 mph limit. A radar confirmed the vehicle’s speed at 102 mph.

A traffic stop was initiated, and the driver was identified as Christian Jovanni Agosto, 26. Agosto informed Deputy Janiak that he was en route from Tampa to his residence in Ormond Beach…
