Sheriff Chronister assists in arrest of 2 after fentanyl bust

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Two people were arrested after deputies stopped a vehicle, leading to the discovery and seizure of fentanyl, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

In a post on social media, HCSO said that Sheriff Chad Chronister was assisting their drug interdiction unit on I-275 south when deputies stopped a vehicle that was following too closely.

The Sheriff’s Office said that during the stop, deputies observed the driver and passenger throwing items out of the window. They were able to recover one of the discarded items, a Marlboro cigarette box, which they discovered to be filled with fentanyl pills and powder…
