HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — Cameras on school buses and near school campuses are ready to activate as Hillsborough County kids head back to class on Monday.
Footage from Hillsborough County’s ‘BusPatrol’ program shows drivers speeding around stopped school buses, in some cases narrowly missing students. Marisol Homer said, as a mom, she appreciates cameras that help keep kids safe as they go to and from school.

“I have a 4-year-old son myself, so, especially his safety is my top priority,” she explained. “I think there should be a lot more implementation, especially with the amount of children that we have and how close we are to the schools.”
