Sheriff’s Office arrested 51-year-old Eric Detiege of Tampa on Friday after he stole two beers from a Marathon gas station in Yulee and struck two clerks who tried to stop him—damaging the store’s front door in the process.
When deputies located Detiege, he smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes, and even threatened one of our deputies.
Further investigation revealed this wasn’t just about a $7 theft—Detiege had an active warrant out of Ohio for Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill, and Resisting an Officer, plus another warrant from Jacksonville for Exposure of Sexual Organs.
