Tampa Man Gets Life In Prison for Murder Over Stolen Socks

A Tampa man will spend the rest of his life in prison for the murder of a 20-year-old he accused of stealing a package of socks. The victim was shot in the head at a local park after a dispute over the socks.

TAMPA, Fla. – A 31-year-old man was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole on Tuesday for the 2024 killing of a young man he accused of stealing socks.

Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Judge Lyann Goudie handed down the sentence to Jerome Alexander Parker after a jury found him guilty of second-degree murder with a firearm.

According to the Tampa Police Department, the incident occurred on August 9, 2024, at Copeland Park. Officers found 20-year-old Nasir Delaney-Rowland with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at Tampa General Hospital. An autopsy confirmed he was shot in the back of the head…
