TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Tropical Storm Gabrielle is expected to develop into a hurricane by Sunday, the National Hurricane Center said.
As of 5 a.m. on Saturday, the storm was around 530 miles northeast of the Leeward Islands and 685 miles southeast of Bermuda. It’s moving northwest at 13 mph, and with maximum sustained winds of 50 mph, it still has some strengthening to do before becoming a Category 1 hurricane.
NHC said Gabrielle is expected to continue northwest through Saturday night before gradually turning to the north on Sunday and back toward the open Atlantic on Monday…
