Lakeland Man with Two-Decade-Old Suspension Faces Multiple Charges After Traffic Stop
LAKELAND, Fla. – A traffic stop in Lakeland early Monday morning led to the arrest of a man whose driver’s license had been suspended for over two decades.
Terrell Franklin, 38, of Lakeland, was pulled over by Deputy Thompson of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office at approximately 2:42 a.m. at the intersection of Wabash Avenue and Memorial Boulevard. Franklin was driving a 2012 gray Volkswagen sedan and was cited for not wearing a seat belt.
Upon running Franklin’s information, Deputy Thompson discovered that his driver’s license had been suspended on August 5, 2004, during the first term of President George W. Bush. This finding resulted in an additional charge of Driving While License Suspended or Revoked (DWLSR)…
