Tampa Police and Florida Highway Patrol recently stopped a wrong-way intoxicated driver on Interstate 4.
In the early hours of a recent wrong-way driver incident, a collaborative effort between the Tampa Police Department and the Florida Highway Patrol successfully brought a dangerous situation to a swift and safe conclusion, stopping the wrong-way driver on Interstate 4. The driver, 24-year-old Kristian Beall, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence (DUI) and additional offenses.
Just before 2:30am, Tampa Police received a report of a vehicle driving the wrong way in the eastbound lanes of I-4. Officers quickly located a silver Toyota Camry traveling westbound in the inside eastbound lane at approximately 60 MPH.
Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver, later identified as Beall, refused to pull over and continued to flee, narrowly missing a collision with a marked police car…
