Make way for the swamp princess because Doechii is coming home. Her tour, “Live from the Swamp,” is set to appear at the Yuengling Center on October 25th. This show is marked as one of the most anticipated for the Tampa community, many of whom have seen her grow from a small local artist to the third-ever woman to win Best Rap Album at the Grammy Awards. This homecoming show becomes more than just a concert and transforms into a community celebration of pure talent.
From the Swamp to the Stage
Before virality and performing at the Grammy Awards, Doechii began her career here in Tampa. She started off by writing poetry and lyrics during her time at Howard W. Blake High School until the release of her debut song, “Girls,” in 2016 under the name Iamdoechii on SoundCloud. She would continue to release music independently, producing one of her most viral works, “Yucky Blucky Fruitcake,” which captured the eyes of record labels.
In 2022, Doechii signed to Capitol Records and Top Dawg Entertainment, allowing her to explore the realm of music like never before. She collaborated with multiple artists like David Guetta and released the song “Crazy,” which earned her a nomination for Push Performance of the Year at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards. Every year since, she has continuously shown her power and depth, becoming one of the top voices of her label.
Live from the Swamp: One Last Time
As an homage and final encore to her award-winning album “Alligator Bites Never Heal,” Doechii is hitting the stage one last time for this era of her music. This tour embodies everything she embodies: authenticity and creativity. Blending her roots with her current home has allowed her to explore the depths of what it means to produce meaningful work. Her blend of fluidity and authenticity within her work aided in her journey to building a successful career. This tour represents where she’s been, where she is, and where she’s going next, along with the chaos or beauty that accompanies this journey…
