Tampa Braces for Event-Filled Saturday as City Warns of Heavy Traffic and Encourages Alternative Transportation

Tampa residents and visitors are preparing for a busy Saturday filled with multiple events expected to draw large crowds to the downtown area. The City of Tampa issued a traffic advisory warning of heavy congestion and limited parking tomorrow due to several simultaneous activities.

Scheduled events include the Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Benchmark International Arena, the Tampa Girls Who Walk Market at Water Works Park, the Tampa Home Show and the Tux & Tails Gala at the Tampa Convention Center, and the Tampa Pig Jig at Julian B. Lane Park. Additionally, a political rally is set downtown from 4 to 7 p.m., and the Straz Center and Tampa Theatre will host shows throughout the day and evening.

To reduce congestion, the city encourages attendees to use alternative transportation options such as the free TECO Line Streetcar, DASH service, HART buses, and rentable scooters or bicycles. Officials also reminded drivers to use caution and watch for pedestrians near event zones…
