CLEARWATER — Organizers from Indivisible North Pinellas counted more than 3,000 protesters along Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard the morning of Oct. 18. Holding signs, wearing costumes and chanting slogans, the crowd lined both sides of the street from U.S. 19 west past Sky Harbor Drive.
Dressed in a chicken costume and blaring the “Chicken Dance” on a portable speaker, Casey Wilson, 48, of Palm Harbor, stopped to take selfies with protesters.
When someone asked, “Why did the chicken cross the road?” as she waited for the light to change, Wilson glanced back as it turned green and replied, “To fight for democracy.”…
