Lakeland Hit-And-Run Horror: Driver Flees To Guatemala After Running Over Victim Twice

LAKELAND, Fla. – The Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) Traffic Homicide Unit has issued an arrest warrant for a Guatemalan man who is in the country illegally, following a brutal hit-and-run crash that left a bicyclist critically injured.

The suspect, Erick Perez De Leon, 21, is believed to have fled the country and returned to Guatemala days after the incident.

Critical Crash and Vicious Scene

The crash occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, October 9th, on Campbell Road West in Lakeland.
