Plant City Police Department Honored with Community Engagement Award by Hillsborough County

The Plant City Police Department was recently recognized for its efforts in community engagement, highlighting a relationship between law enforcement and residents that extends beyond the typical narrative. Honored with the Planning & Design Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Community by the Hillsborough County Planning Commission, the department’s programs, including Pizza with a Cop, Back the Beard, and holiday toy drives, have made significant strides in strengthening community bonds.

In a statement on their social media, the Plant City Police expressed their pride in receiving this award, which was presented at the Shanna & Bryan Glazer Jewish Community Center in Tampa. Chief of Police Richard Mills Jr., and Deputy Chief Justin Duralia, along with several officers, were present to accept this recognition. “This award recognizes our department’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and fundraising — efforts that bring our officers and residents closer together,” the Plant City Police Department posted on Facebook.
