Faulty taillight leads to discovery of stolen firearm and drugs, Hillsborough deputies say

TOWN ‘N’ COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A traffic stop for a faulty taillight resulted in the discovery of a stolen firearm and drugs on Tuesday, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop at a gas station near West Hillsborough Avenue and Sawyer Road, HCSO said.

Body camera footage showed a deputy conversing with the driver, Luis Serrano, before asking him to step out of the vehicle to examine the dim taillight. In the footage, the deputy observed the large amount of money in Serrano’s hand, leading Serrano to explain, “I work in a club”…
