Free Compost Giveaway This November Helps Tampa Residents Conserve Water Amid Drought

The Tampa Bay area is experiencing a drier fall and a rainfall deficit of 11.3 inches. In response, the Tampa Water Department will offer a free compost giveaway to help residents conserve water and maintain their lawns. The event begins Friday, November 7, 2025, at 9 a.m. at Alfred ‘Al’ Barnes Park, 3100 E. 18th Avenue in Tampa. Tampa Water Department customers can collect up to 30 gallons of compost. The giveaway will continue through Saturday, November 8, or until supplies run out. Registration is required at tampa.gov/FallCompostGiveaway.
