‘It took my breath away’: Mom of 24-year-old Ybor City crash victim says daughter has long road to recovery

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Riley Hancock, 24, was living in her prime — a University of South Florida graduate known for her bright personality and the way she made friends everywhere she went. But her life changed in an instant when police said a driver fleeing officers crashed into a crowded bar in Ybor City, killing four people and injuring dozens more.

Riley and her two best friends, Connor and Brandon Dietrich were among the victims.

Her mother, Kimberly Maus, said her family was visiting Chicago for the weekend when the calls started coming in.
