POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Winter Haven man, Kevin Cole, 56, is back behind bars after an arrest in Polk County, mere hours after his ex-girlfriend drove across county lines and paid his bond to get him out of a Hillsborough County jail.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd addressed the bizarre sequence of events in his “Morning Briefing,” expressing disbelief at the suspect’s lack of appreciation, calling him a “jerk with a capital J.”
The incident began when Cole successfully persuaded his ex-girlfriend to pick him up and bond him out of the detention facility. However, the long drive back to Polk County took a turn for the worse.
