Hillsborough County adds new alert system at Jails

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA)—The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is adding more safety in its detention facilities with an additional way to call for help.

The Cenegix Safety Alert System is an emergency alert system that provides detention deputies an additional way to call during an emergency, the HCSO said.

“The safety of our deputies and the inmates in our care is always our top priority,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “The implementation of the Centegix system ensures that even if a deputy is unable to reach their radio, assistance can be dispatched immediately. This is another step forward in using technology to strengthen our response capabilities and create a safer environment for everyone inside our facilities.”
