ICE wants custody of man from Mexico who has been in U.S. for 15 years

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has placed a hold on a Plant City man who was stopped for driving without a license.

A deputy spotted 46-year-old Celestino Bautista Santiago speeding in Webster around 2:55 p.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. Radar confirmed his maroon Dodge Caravan was going 75 miles per hour in a 60-mph zone, leading to a traffic stop at State Road 471 and County Road 788.

After the vehicle stopped, the deputy saw Bautista Santiago swap seats with a woman in the backseat. He was still detained and identified using a Mexico ID from his wallet. He then advised that he had never been issued a driver’s license in the U.S. He had been in the country for about 15 years, but his work VISA expired some time ago, the report said…
