How to make sure your family doesn’t get food poisoning this Thanksgiving

TAMPA, Fla. — As families prepare for Thanksgiving feasts, nutrition specialists are warning that holiday meals can quickly become a source of food-borne illness if not handled properly.

Every year nationwide, about one in six people will experience some kind of food-borne illness or food poisoning, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control. If you’re not careful during Thanksgiving, experts say your family could become part of that statistic.
