Typical Tampa retail worker earns nearly $40K less than needed to afford average apartment: Redfin

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The typical American retail worker earns more than 50% less than they would need to afford the average apartment, according to new data from Redfin.

A renter would need to make $71,172 per year to afford the typical apartment, which rents for $1,779 per month. Redfin reports that the typical retail worker would need to work 83 hours a week just to afford an apartment at that price.
