PSTA votes unanimously to bring back Tampa Bay ferry, Hubbard Marina tapped to provide service

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — Today’s Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority meeting focused on action, with board members voting unanimously to move forward with the new Tampa Bay ferry service.

The newly proposed contract lasts five years, with an option to extend.

“First the funding agreements, second the operating agreement, third is an amendment to the operating agreement to provide alternative docking locations, if necessary, but we don’t expect we’ll need them,” said procurement director Al Burns.

The PSTA board also voted today to hire Hubbard’s Marina to run the upcoming ferry service, a local company with decades of experience on Gulf waters. Owner Capt. Mark Hubbard tell us he’s excited for the opportunity…
