TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa City Council will get an update from police and the city’s mobility department on what’s been done to address pedestrian safety after the deadly car crash in Ybor City.
Four people were killed and more than a dozen others were injured in the Nov. 8 crash. Silas Sampson is accused of eluding police after street racing just after midnight that morning, traveling up to 100 mph before losing control on 7th Avenue in Ybor City and driving into a crowd of patrons.
Lawyers for Sampson will be in court Thursday for his arraignment, where they’re expected to plead not guilty on his behalf. He’s facing dozens of charges, including DUI manslaughter…
