A holiday gathering at a popular Overtown restaurant took a violent turn on Christmas Day when a 50-year-old woman allegedly shot her son during an argument about his behavior.
Roseita Lavette Smith remains in custody at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center following the incident, which unfolded just outside the Red Rooster on Northwest 2nd Avenue. According to jail records, Smith faces a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon causing bodily harm.
She is currently being held without bond…
