TAMPA, Fla. – Hillsborough County Fire Rescue prevented a dangerous situation from escalating Monday morning, knocking down a residential fire in Tampa’s Progress Village before it could consume the home.

Dispatchers began receiving calls around 8:40 a.m. reporting a fire at 4918 S. 84th Street. When the first units arrived, they found heavy smoke billowing from the rear of the house. Firefighters wasted no time, immediately rushing inside to launch an offensive attack and battle the flames at the source.
