Former deputy threatens officer after getting parking ticket, officials say

LAKELAND, Fla. (WWSB) – A former Polk County Sheriff’s deputy has been arrested after allegedly threatening a civilian service officer who gave him a parking ticket.

On Dec. 30 in Lakeland, a 75-year-old volunteer sheriff’s service officer noticed a vehicle in front of a grocery store, parked in a clearly marked fire lane. The vehicle was unoccupied, running, with emergency flashers operating.

About 15 minutes later, a man identified at 60-year-old Marcus Baker exited the store and began loading groceries into his car…
