“300 to 400 victims”: Man caught in the act after months of drivers reporting nails scattered across the roadway

If you’ve driven through Valrico, Florida lately and suddenly heard that ugly hiss of air leaving a tire, you weren’t alone, and according to News Channel 8 reporter Ryan Arbogast, there was a growing reason neighbors stopped calling it “one of those things” and started calling it what it looked like: a pattern.

Ryan Arbogast framed it the way a lot of people were already thinking about it, which is that this wasn’t random debris or construction spillover, but a months-long mess that kept hitting the same stretch of road, again and again, with too much consistency to be chalked up to bad timing.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office told Arbogast the complaints weren’t new, either, and that the nail problem along Miller Road had been building since September, which is a long time for something this specific to keep happening without a clear answer…
