Pass-a-Grille’s famed Seahorse Restaurant nears grand reopening

One of the most cherished establishments in Pass-a-Grille is set to make its long-awaited return. Seahorse Restaurant, the beloved breakfast and lunch spot at 800 Pass a Grille Way, is nearing its grand reopening nearly a full year and a half since hurricane damage forced a long-term closure.

An official opening date has not yet been set, though it could be as soon as the first week of February according to social media posts, as the family-owned restaurant goes through the finishing touches of its renovation. Owners told FOX 13 Tampa Bay that they hope to next week, assuming all goes to plan. The historic Seahorse Restaurant has been a favorite among locals and tourists alike since it first opened in 1938, dishing up classic diner breakfast and lunch every day in a relaxed, familial setting. In fact, the restaurant was just named an official Historic Marker back in 2024 to commemorate its nearly century-long status in the community.
