Gasparilla is a day of celebration, and, for some, a day of excess. If this is you, then you’ll most likely be searching for some recovery fuel the morning after Gasparilla. While there are a few ‘hair of the dog’ remedies that might help soothe your hangover, there’s nothing quite like a hearty breakfast to aid in the post-Gasparilla recovery.
And there is no better place for the morning-after debrief than in one of Tampa’s amazing breakfast diners. To save you the trouble of searching through Yelp reviews on Sunday morning, we’ve listed our favorites below.
Trip’s Diner
Regularly voted as one of the best breakfast restaurants in Tampa, Trip’s Diner is a local favorite. Its American homestyle breakfast is the perfect thing to get your spirits up after a long day of parading. Trip’s offers all-day breakfast, so even if you roll out of bed at 2 pm, you’ll still have plenty of time to get yourself some pancakes and grits.

Himes Breakfast House
Next up is a personal favorite of mine (maybe because it’s close to where I live in South Tampa). Himes Breakfast House is located on 3826 South Himes Avenue, and serves some of the best breakfast food in town. At Himes, you can stay hydrated with refillable coffee, orange juice, a delicious cold brew, and – if you’re truly looking for a hair-of-the-dog cure – mimosas.
