The Tampa Police Department recently concluded a three-month swoop known as “Operation: Safer Streets,” nabbing 55 individuals, according to an official announcement by the department. The operation, which sought to target chronic offenders and disrupt the flow of illegal narcotics including fentanyl and cocaine, led to the recovery of assorted drugs and a firearm, underscoring an intensified approach to tackling recurrent violent crime in local neighborhoods.

Chief Lee Bercaw of the Tampa Police Department emphasized the adverse effects of drug activity on communities, stating, “It’s traumatic for families to see drugs sold in their parks and neighborhoods,” the department reported.
