TAMPA, Florida — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is set to honor dozens of agency members in a promotion ceremony today, advancing them into leadership roles.
Sheriff Chad Chronister will recognize individuals as they are promoted to the ranks of Colonel, Major, Captain, Lieutenant, Sergeant, and Corporal, according to a press release from the department. The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 7 p.m. at Riverhills Church of God, located at 6310 East Sligh Avenue, Tampa, FL 33617.
Among those being promoted are Colonel David Arthur and Colonel Preston Hollis. Colonel Arthur, originally from Washington D.C. and raised in Pennsylvania, began his full-time career with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office in 2002. His extensive experience includes assignments in the Street Crimes Unit, Warrants Section, and the Sheriff’s Targeted Area Response Squad.
