What Now reported last week on a big changeup on South Howard Avenue: after 14 years, Soho Saloon has closed its doors, and Disser Hospitality Investment is planning to replace it with a “fresh, elevated hospitality concept.”
If that sounds a little vague—well, it is. Disser Hospitality Investment excels at keeping its cards close to the chest. In the announcement of the transformation, hints were also dropped about “exciting news coming soon regarding the former Deck Pizza / Side Piece space, so stay tuned.”
And staying tuned we are. But, as it turns out, Disser Hospitality Investment is also at work on another project nearby. It’s called Howard & Platt, and it’s opening—where else?—at South Howard Avenue and West Platt Street. (Submitted plan review documents place it more specifically at 301 S Howard Ave.)…
