‘It makes you angry’: Multiple emaciated dogs surrendered to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay in March

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Three emaciated dogs were taken in by the Humane Society of Tampa Bay this month.

CEO Sherry Silk said this is very unusual for them, and she wants to make sure the community is aware of the free resources they provide so people don’t starve their pets.

“If animal control had seen these dogs, they would have prosecuted the owners for neglect or actual cruelty,” Silk said. “They’re lucky the dogs didn’t die because that would have been worse.”

Zeus, a Doberman, was surrendered by an owner who said they didn’t have enough money to buy them food. Bowser, a mastiff, and Nadia, a boxer, were found on the side of the road…
