Tampa residents express concerns over TECO bills: ‘Something needs to change’

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Electric bills were a hot topic during Thursday’s Tampa City Council meeting. Citizens are asking city council members to consider a resolution for affordable energy that could help with the rising price of their TECO bills.

Speaker after speaker went up to the podium to say that enough is enough, electric bills are getting too expensive. In some cases, people said families are having to choose between keeping the lights on and putting food on the table.

Residents are calling on city leaders for help when it comes to their electric bills. They are asking council members to speak to state leaders and to the TECO executive board.

“You can apply pressure, you can publicly advocate for your residents, your families and communities.
