Hillsborough County couple sentenced to 90 years combined for selling drug-infused snacks to children

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla — Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced a combined 90-year prison sentence for the married couple involved in a Hillsborough County fentanyl trafficking scheme.

The Attorney General says Renee and Vincent Stephens are sentenced to 60 and 30 years in prison, respectively, following a more than two-year investigation where the couple was distributing drugs disguised as snacks to children.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement began the investigation in August 2023, when Tampa Bay-area agents received a tip on Renee’s drug trafficking activities…
