It’s the cheesiest news of the week in St. Pete, and it’s also a feel-good local success story. Mozzarella Mike, who has made a name for himself at pop-ups all over Tampa Bay for his fresh pulled mozzarella, announced the upcoming opening of Mozza Paninoteca.
The Italian-inspired cafe and store will feature sandwiches, fresh stretched mozzarella, wine, and Italian goods. Mozza will be located at 2319 Dr M.L.K. Jr St N in the former Little Llamas space.
Mozzarella Mike has become a bit of an underground sensation, with everything from cheese-making classes and catering to crossover collabs that sell out in minutes. The Mozzarella Mike X Stew’s Bagels collabs at Golden Isles Brewing and 86 Wine Bar are some of the tastiest joint operations we’ve seen. Now, we’ll be able to get the good stuff right down the road at Mozza.
To that end, Mozza is the newest to join what has become a booming MLK corridor. Recent years have seen the openings of stars like the aforementioned Golden Isles and 86 Wine Bar, as well as the new Violet Stone restaurant, Neighborhood Joe’s relocation, Calida’s debut, and Wildflower Ice Cream’s brick and mortar.
