Hiker in ‘extremely critical condition’ after rescue from Phoenix mountain

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) – Phoenix Fire officials say a hiker is in “extremely critical condition” after being rescued from a Phoenix mountain Thursday afternoon. Technical rescue teams from the Phoenix, Guadalupe and Tempe fire departments responded to the Pima Canyon Trailhead at South Mountain just after 2 p.m. First responders were told an injured hiker was experiencing some type of medical issue about one mile up from the trailhead.
