City of Peoria hosts all-day Fourth of July celebration

Join Peoria for big, evening, backyard barbeque vibes at the annual All-American Festival on Thursday, July 4 inside the main stadium of the Peoria Sports Complex, 16101 N. 83rd Ave., according to a news release.

The free festival runs from 6 to 9 p.m., with live music by 1980’s New Wave tribute band, The Spazmatics, along with outdoor games, performances from a BMX stunt team, a variety of food and beverage vendors and fireeworks.

Instead of a water zone at the Peoria Sports Complex, residents are invited to beat the heat at a free open swim from noon to 4 p.m. at all three Peoria community pools. Each pool location will offer sweet treats and festive giveaways (while supplies last). Families with young children can also cool off at one of Peoria’s many splash pads before attending the fireworks festival. Peoria splash pads will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
