Arizona Winter Storm Warning: Heavy Snow and High Winds Until Early Saturday

Flagstaff, AZ – A powerful winter storm is sweeping across Arizona, bringing heavy snowfall and hazardous travel conditions to higher elevations. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the White Mountains, Mogollon Rim, and Northern Gila County, lasting through early Saturday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, snowfall is expected to range from 3 to 15 inches, with the highest totals in the White Mountains. Winds are also forecasted to gust up to 35 mph, potentially causing blowing snow and low visibility. The storm is expected to significantly impact Friday’s morning and evening commutes.

Snowfall projections include:

  • Show Low, Heber-Overgaard, and Williams: 4 to 8 inches
  • Pinetop-Lakeside and Forest Lakes: 8 to 12 inches
  • Flagstaff and Pine-Strawberry: 6 to 8 inches
  • Payson: 2 to 4 inches
  • Whiteriver: 1 to 2 inches
