Weather knocks out power at thousands of Valley homes, impacts Sky Harbor flights

PHOENIX – A Friday morning storm system caused power outages at thousands of homes across the Valley and hundreds of flight delays.

More than 3,000 Arizona Public Service customers were without electricity before 7 a.m., according to the electric utility’s outage map.

Most of the APS outages were resolved by 10 a.m., although about 250 customers in pockets of Phoenix and Scottsdale were still without electricity…
