First Alert Weather Day for winter storm in Arizona

PHOENIX (AZFamily) —The first of two winter storms moving towards Arizona arrives today, and it’s a First Alert Weather Day across the state.

In the Valley, look for sunny and slightly cooler conditions today with a high of 78 degrees. Breezy conditions can be expected, with winds between 10 and 20 miles per hour. By this evening, we will see rain chances, with a slight chance for a few isolated thunderstorms possible. Rain chances are near 70 percent tonight, mainly from about 5 p.m. into the late night hours.

Snow is expected today above 6,500 feet, with a few inches of accumulation likely. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from late this evening to tomorrow morning…
